Oxford Offer for Old Ashvillian – Alice Butcher

Last year’s Deputy Head of School, Alice Butcher, got in touch last week to tell us some fantastic news.

Whilst taking a Gap Year, Alice has not only been working at Pinsent Masons’ law firm, but has been busy applying to university. We are delighted to announce that Alice has been accepted to read Law at Exeter College, Oxford.

Alice joined Ashville in Reception, and her 14 years here culminated in her appointment as Deputy Head of School in her final year. Academically, Alice’s fantastic GCSE and A Level results are a highlight of her time at Ashville, whilst on a more personal note, the people she has met here have become ‘friends for life’. During her time at Ashville, Alice was a member of the Debating Society and the Ashville Oxbridge Programme.

Reflecting on this exciting news, Alice said: ‘I’m over the moon (and still a bit shell shocked) that my application to study Law has proved successful and I can’t wait for the start of term in October. I’m very much looking forward to getting back into my academic studies after taking a break from them during my gap year, which I have spent gaining commercial awareness whilst working at Pinsent Masons.’

We wish Alice the best of luck as she begins the next stage of her academic career.

Information Update

We are attempting to improve our current database of information on old Ashvillians in the hope that we can put it to better use in future to help both past and present students.

It would be really useful if you could fill in this quick online form with your current details (even if you think we have them).

Many thanks.

If you have a story, feature, letter or photograph you would like to submit to the website or the Update, please email Tom.

And thank you for your contributions without which the Update would not exist!
