Appreciation: Mr J M Bromley

Ashville College announces with great sadness the death of Mr John Bromley, Head of Geography at the school from 1972 to 1994.

Brom’s contribution to the life of Ashville included coaching the Cricket 1st XI and U15 Colts Rugby as well as being Housemaster of Briggs from 1978 to 1989. He had a genuine desire to help his pupils to develop their skills and to prepare them for the varied challenges of life, imparted with a twinkle in the eye and a telling anecdote.

We extend our deep sympathy to his beloved and devoted wife Barbara, herself also something of an Ashville legend as Head of Modern Languages.

A fuller tribute to Brom will appear in due course.

Information Update

We are attempting to improve our current database of information on old Ashvillians in the hope that we can put it to better use in future to help both past and present students.

It would be really useful if you could fill in this quick online form with your current details (even if you think we have them).

Many thanks.

If you have a story, feature, letter or photograph you would like to submit to the website or the Update, please email Tom.
