Ashville College Unveils Bespoke Artwork for Purchase

A bespoke piece of artwork by local artist and Ashville parent, Anita Bowerman was unveiled at the recent Christmas Drinks evening in the Memorial Hall.

The paper-cut took 100 hours of careful work to complete, and features the iconic clock tower, the Memorial Hall, the Elmfield block and the rugby and cricket pitches. It also features pupils participating in a wide variety of sporting activities and Headmaster Mr Lauder waving from his study window.

Mr Lauder said: “The finished art work is simply superb. An incredible amount of detail has gone into the finished item, and I think it encapsulates Ashville, and all the school stands for, beautifully.”

In addition to the original paper-cut which will be displayed in the school, signed prints are available to buy. Fifteen per cent of the proceeds from these sales will go to the Ashville Foundation, which provides means tested bursaries to widen access to the College education.

Prints are available to purchase on Anita’s website:

Information Update

We are attempting to improve our current database of information on old Ashvillians in the hope that we can put it to better use in future to help both past and present students.

It would be really useful if you could fill in this quick online form with your current details (even if you think we have them).

Many thanks.

If you have a story, feature, letter or photograph you would like to submit to the website or the Update, please email Tom.

And thank you for your contributions without which the Update would not exist!
